Reasons behind Sri Mahato’s success

  • Shri Mathan Mahato is a progressive tasar rearer cum advanced grainure residing in the Jhilimili village of Ranibandh block under Bankura district of West Bengal.
  • He is doing tasar sericulcure since 2002.
  • Shri Mahato is also the motivational force of ~400 farmers of Ranibandh block for their livelihood through tasar sericulture.
  • A 15 days training on Tasar Culture at BSMTC Patelnagar during 2001 under UNDP encourages him to initiate tasar culture
